When I was 14 years old my aunt gave me a complete darkroom setup and I had just the place to put it in the basement. But I had no camera, so I went out and bought a Brownie Hawkeye. That wonderful camera started me off on a new adventure. It even helped me get a summer job as a newspaper photographer.
But sloshing photo chemicals in the dark grew less interesting as the years passed so when I got my first TV cameraman job, video replaced still photography as my true love for many years. However, the first time I shot some stills with a digital camera and processed them on my computer I saw: No more smelly chemicals, now my darkroom was in my computer instead of the dank basement and I felt that I had full control over the artistic process.
Recently I discovered a secret process to add more creativity to my work. Friends call it "painting with pixels." As a result I have been fortunate enough to have had some seven or more showings in galleries, museums and art shows during the past 12 months.
If you like my work, I would love to hear from you. And thanks for dropping by. |
