Discovered by the American Impressionists in 1899, Old Lyme, Connecticut has remained a painter's paradise for more than 100 years.Many of the early artists who established the Lyme Art Colony are considered to be among the 20th century's great masters of representational painting and include Childe Hassam, Will Howe Foote, Willard Metcalf, Henry Ward Ranger, Carleton Wiggins, Gifford Beal, J. Alden Weir, and Henry Rankin Poore.The Lyme Art Association announces a call to artists for the "HVAA 77th Annual Exhibition", June 27 - August 2, 2008 in Old Lyme, CT. Awards are given by categories.
