If you're looking for a hip, savvy interior designer with a wide array of design experience, I am skilled on all levels. Originally from Seattle, designing backdrops, fliers and album covers for Seattle area bands during the Grunge era, I also designed artistic calendars for venues at the famous RKCNDY nightclub where musicians on a national level performed…Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Mudhoney and Blind Melon. Due to my interest and involvement in the music scene, I became a DJ at an alternative radio station called KGRG and worked at a music store creating and designing eye catching window displays. During this time, I received a BA degree in Communications with an emphasis in television/radio production from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where I also designed television sets at a local television station called TCTV and participated in several productions covering special events…Martin Luther King Day Celebration, various theatre productions and Olympia City Counsel meetings. Upon graduating college, I continued designing window displays for commercial stores and began planning special events and setting up catering for public and private parties…Microsoft, tradeshow booth design for events at the Seattle Convention Center and Key Arena, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Because of my radio production background, Rochelle was hired at Muzak to do voice-over work and write in-store audio ads for petroleum companies throughout the country… Amoco, BP, Chevron, Diamond Shamrock, Exxon, Shell and Texaco. After the company relocated to the East Coast, I continued doing event planning and window display design throughout the Seattle area. Due to the dot com craze, many people from all over the world moved to Seattle where they bought and often flipped homes and condos. Because of my background in design and production, I began working with various construction companies, civil engineering and realty firms throughout the Seattle area in order to learn the trade and utilize my skills. I was approached to do art direction for a film called, "Impulse" where I designed several sets. This opened the doors to new opportunities. I became involved in the independent film and commercial television industry as a production designer, set designer, art director, prop master and location scout where I designed over 200 sets. I worked on various local productions and for Universal, DreamWorks and the Discovery Channel, where films like "Gory Gory Hallelujah", "The Ring", "Outpatient" and "Feedback" received raving reviews and awards at film festivals. In 2002, I relocated to Los Angeles where I continued to work in the film and television industry, plan special events and work at a local prop house. Because of my experience and interest in the construction and design industry I received an interior design degree in 2004 from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising where seasoned designers acknowledged my unique style, creative vision and ability to add interesting elements to my design concepts. I was a showroom manager for a high-end furniture store at the LA Mart where I designed and sold custom furniture, accessories and bedding to retailers and designers throughout the country. I also worked at the Home Depot as a kitchen design consultant where I designed over 10 kitchens a month. For the past 3 years, I've been an independent contractor working on all types of projects for both residential and commercial spaces throughout the Los Angeles, Seattle and Tucson areas…including apartments, homes, condos, lofts, nightclubs, restaurants and office spaces. I am considered a "boutique designer" because of my artistic approach and fine attention to detail on every project. If you're looking for a designer with a whirlwind of creativity, who truly understands your needs and every aspect of design, I will turn your place into the palace of your dreams.
