Kirsten is a member of NY's National Chorale, the Northport Opera Company, and the Concert Chorale. She enjoys a rich spectrum of vocal repertoire including standard lyric opera roles, oratorio, spirituals and Celtic songs in Gaelic.
2008 choral engagements have included the NY Philharmonic's Tosca and American Symphony Orchestra's Die Zerstoerung Jerusalem (Ferdinand Hiller). Kirsten will sing in Verdi's La Forza del Destino with the Caramoor Festival Chorus in July, and with the Mostly Mozart Festival chorus for the C Minor Mass in August. Solo engagements in 2007 included Handel's Messiah - Part I with Ensemble Sepia Orchestra at Fordham United Methodist Church, a recital with David Michael Wolff as part of the Fordham-At-Four concert series, Cherubino with Eastern Festival Opera, Romeo, Dorabella, Siebel, Hansel, Mercedes and Giovanna in excerpt with Northport Opera Company. Other recent solo performances include Haydn's Schoepfungsmesse with NY Cantata Singers, and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with the Choral Symphony Society (2006). She joined the chorus in Der Ferne Klang (Hanz Schreker) and The Wreckers (Ethel Smyth) with the American Symphony Orchestra, as well as in Carmina Burana, Bach's B Minor Mass, Mozart's Requiem and C Minor Mass, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Handel's Messiah and other choral masterworks with the National Chorale at Avery Fisher Hall. Other choral performances have included Bach's Weinachtsoratorium and several cantatas with NY Cantata Singers. She appeared at the Carlyle Hotel with Bob Goldstone, pianist, in a recital of French salon songs in association with the Jewish Museum's 2005 exhibit of Sarah Bernhardt. She delights in her position as Mezzo Soloist for Fordham United Methodist Church in the Bronx, a church of wonderful people and great music. She has performed in New York and Washington, DC for Crittenden Opera, where her operatic repertoire included the title role in Carmen, Charlotte in Werther, Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Rosina in Il Barbiere, Meg in Falstaff, and Idamante in Idomeneo. |
