You've probably seen me as the featured soprano soloist in the "Yanni, Live at the Acropolis" DVD & PBS-TV Special. Many of you may know me as the tambourine-waving choir nun and real life music director & production vocal coach in both "Sister Act" films with Whoopi Goldberg. I have been honored with a GRAMMY® Award and 3 GRAMMY® nominations and have appeared on & off-camera in thousands of movies, records, commecials, television shows and much more. Some of the people and projects I've worked on are 3 American Idol specials, The Academy Awards with Robin Williams, The Young and the Restless, Pink Floyd, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Neil Young, Kenny Loggins, President Clinton, The Chicago Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic orchestras, an upcoming TV show called Dance Machine and many more.
As composer/arranger/performer of keyboards & vocals, I have produced in my studio, four award-winning albums of beautiful music on my own indie label, TimeArt® Recordings (distributed worldwide by AEC & New Leaf) and I love touring the world with my concerts & workshops. My latest CD, "Infinite Voice," went to #1 on the New Age/Ambient/World Music Radio Charts in 2007 and was ranked as the #2 CD of all CDs for the entire year of airplay for 2007 and won a LifeStyle Music Award for "Best Vocal Album 2007" voted by Broadcasters worldwide. My Christmas CD, "Heavenly Peace" debuted #2 on the same charts and also won the LifeStyle Music Award for "Best Holiday Album 2007."
In spite of my busy schedule as a recording artist, one of my goals in life is to help everyone feel more confident with the expressions of their own voice, either by singing in tune or speaking more effectively, achieve better listening skills, and experience the many benefits of music. To that end I wrote and published a book with 7 CDs through my own publishing company, TimeArt® Publications (distributed worldwide by Alfred Music Publishing) titled "Tune Your Voice: Singing and Your Mind's Musical Ear" to help everyone learn how to sing and understand music. I have also published articles on "The Healing Power of the Voice" and offer sound therapy sessions to help clients to heal themselves through music, sound vibration and their own voice. On the academic side, I have a Master's Degree in Voice and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Chicago Conservatory College. I feel it is important to share my wealth of experience in voice and the music business with students during private or group lessons (see www.artofsinging.com). I enjoy teaching voice, ear-training & sight-singing to my professional children & teens choir called The Young Vocal Artists of Los Angeles. We've sung on many recording sessions including working with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas on "Freedom Writers."
I sing and play music everyday and even my Dalmatian Krismiss loves to sing along, matching pitch and rhythm! I was born & raised on the south side of Chicago in a mixed neighborhood and moved to Los Angeles to use my gifts in the music business. I've never had a manager or agent and have been blessed with many wonderful opportunities which I work at very diligently. I like to say then, that "God is my agent!" Music is my life! Make them yours!
